Background

Nepal National Dalit Social Welfare Organization (NNDSWO) in partnership with Finn Church Aid (FCA) has been implementing Equality and Non-discrimination for Sustainable Peace (ENDS) project in Dhanusa and Mahottari districts of Nepal. Now, NNDSWO is seeking qualified, dynamic, experienced and committed candidates for the following vacant position.

1.      District Project Officer

Job Title:                                District Project Officer

Required Number:                One (1)

Duty Station:                         NNDSWO District Office, Mahottari

Expected date to join:         Before 1 July 2017

Duration:                               till 31 December 2017

Education and Experience

Completed Bachelor's Degree in sociology, social work, management, or any other relevant disciplines and have minimum of three years working experience in project management, coordination, planning, monitoring and reporting particularly in similar projects. Sound computer knowledge, data management and report writing skill is required. Previous experience in human rights, livelihood and empowerment project is highly desired.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Ensure implementation of project activities as per the project action plan in an appropriate standard,
  • Develop detail implementation plan and budget to meet project objectives,
  • Monitor project activities against plan and ensure these are on time, within budget and are leading the progress towards objectives, and take corrective measures where needed,
  • Ensure all required financial and narrative reports are produced on time, in a defined standard,
  • Ensure all programme results are properly reported and communicated to donors, beneficiaries and other stakeholders;
  • Coordinate with other projects and partners to maximize best use of resources and ideas,
  • Develop and maintain good and strong relationships with donor and other implementing partners, district offices, government agencies, civil society and other stakeholders to strengthen program areas as required,

 Background

Nepal National Dalit Social Welfare Organization (NNDSWO) is going to start partnership with UN-HABITAT Nepal for implementing Open Defecation Free (ODF) Campaign in Morang District of Nepal. The project aims to realize ODF in five VDCs (Tankisinuwari, Budhanagar, Sisawanijahada, Majhare and Bhatiganj) and Biratnagar Sub-metropolitan City of Morang district. Now, NNDSWO is seeking qualified, dynamic, experienced and committed candidates in order to fulfill the following positions. The persons who are interested, and can join immediately and commit time for whole project period are suggested to apply.

1.      District Programme Coordinator

Education and Experience

Completed Bachelor's Degree in social work, public health, engineering, management, or any other relevant social science disciplines. Master's degree is preferred. Have minimum of three years working experience in project management, M&E, social mobilization and coordination of similar projects. Sound computer knowledge, data management and report writing skill is must. Previous experience in WASH and ODF campaign is highly desired.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Education and Experience:

Completed Intermediate Degree in Health, Civil engineering, CMA or any other relevant discipline. Have minimum of one year working experience in stakeholder coordination, social mobilization, campaign, stakeholder coordination, data enumeration in survey and reporting.  The speaking in local language as well as good communication skills is must. Good understanding on sanitation issues, culture and socio-economic condition of local communities in target VDCs is desired. Previous experience in WASH and ODF campaign is highly preferred.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and ensure the cluster and community level project activities as per the project action plan in an appropriate standard,
  • Supervise and mobilize Community Trigger (Motivator) at cluster/filed level to meet project objectives,
  • Collect all required data and supporting documents for financial and narrative reports,
  • Ensure beneficiaries and other stakeholders are communicated about the campaign events and partcipation;
  • Establish good coordination and collaboration with local projects stakeholders and partners for effectiveness of project.
  • Develop and maintain good and strong relationships with VDCs, V/M-WASH-CC and other local implementing partners, local government agencies, CBOs and schools,
  • Mobilize, support and facilitate to local Community Triggers, community members and stakeholders as required,
  • Play role to create a conducive environment at local level

3.      Community Trigger (Motivator)

Required Number:                Nine (9)

Duty Station:                         Tankisinuwar/Budhanagar/Sisawanijahada/Majhare/Bhatiganj VDC/  

                                                 Biratnagar Sub-metropolitan City 

Expected date to join:         from March 2017

Duration:                               8 months

Education and Experience:

Completed SLC or ANM, and have minimum of one year working experience in social mobilization, mass awareness campaign, data enumeration in survey and reporting. The speaking in local language as well as good communication skills is must. Good understanding on sanitation issues, culture and socio-economic condition of local communities in target VDCs is desired. Previous experience in WASH and ODF campaign is highly preferred.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support to conduct community level project activities as per the project action plan in an appropriate standard,
  • Support to conduct door to door visit for collect the data, information and reports as per requirement of project.
  • Support to conduct the mass awareness campaign and motivation events at community level. 
  • Establish strong cooperation and collaboration with target community people, CBOs, child clubs, local political party leaders, Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs) and teachers as well for the effectiveness of project.
  • Work closely with VDCs secretary and V/M-WASH-CC to achieve the goal of project,
  • Mobilize and motivate target people to build personal toilet, maintain personal hygiene and environment sanitation,
  • Work as a team member at community level to promote the ODF campaign.

 Nepal National Dalit Social Welfare Organization (NNDSWO) has been SAMVAD project in partnership with Stromme Foundation. NNDSWO is seeking qualified, dynamic, experienced and committed candidates in order to fulfill a vacant position of Finance Officer.

1.      Project Fianance Officer

Education and Experience:

Completed Bachelor's degree in management and have at least three years working experience in accounting and administration or Master’s Degree in management with one year’s experience. Computer skill is must. Experience in software based accounting is preferred.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensure appropriate record keeping, book keeping and financial documentation of each (program/activity) expenditure on behalf of the project conditions and as per the organizational accounting standard and government rules and regulations to be followed;
  •  Ensure tax compliance and deposit tax deductible at source(TDS) on time;
  • Prepare monthly financial report with all supporting documents in each months and submit it to donor within set reporting deadline
  • Visit project districts and provide technical support to District Finance Officer 
  • Coordinate with program focal person at Central office as when required;
  • Carry out bank transactions and activities as when required to meet requirements such as fund release, bank deposit and withdrawal
  • Coordinate with and support for audit process as and when required;
  • Ensure bank statement management by preparing request letter, collection and reconciliation of statement;
  • Maintain the assets register ensuring its accuracy;
  • Maintain the stock book of non-recurring items ensuring inventory maintained at appropriate levels;
  • Coordinate with and support for audit process of the organization as and when required;
